Being Assertive

What is assertiveness? Why and how does it help in the workplace? Participants will learn simple strategies to improve their workplace communication, defuse and resolve potential conflict, and gain control of a situation, so that they can get their point of view across with effectiveness. Practical application of skills will be emphasised; participants will also receive self-paced learning material to maximise the transfer of learning to the workplace.

Communicating with Influence

Influence is extremely relevant to workplace communication, leadership and teamwork. LINK Learning has therefore drawn on research and material from a number of sources, including Harvard Business School, to present participants with a variety of skills and strategies which will enable them to be influential in the workplace.

Developing Staff through Coaching

This course is primarily designed for EL1 – SES Band 1 employees, although staff with supervisory roles at other levels are also welcome to attend. Participants will be presented with a framework and proven methodology for coaching and mentoring staff. They will also learn key strategies for gaining buy-in, giving difficult feedback, and understanding the staff they are coaching.

Working More Efficiently

This workshop is all about maximising your own efficiency in the workplace. Participants will learn a number of simple but highly effective techniques to improve their skills in areas such as time workflow scheduling, 360 degree delegation, task prioritisation and task implementation management. The emphasis will be on practical strategies, to ensure that participants gain the maximum benefit from LINK Learning’s research and experience in this field.

Almost everyone has experienced a poorly run meeting; it is even worse when you are the facilitator and realise that your meeting isn’t going well.
